Every once and awhile I find something that is truly remarkable for the story that will never be told. Vintage watches to me are like an old book! The difference is that unless your privy to the owner, it a book that will forever keep its story to itself.

Think 1926, think 1931! Two dates for one family that are etched in their personal library of history. This was a birthday gift to Joe by Mother March 19 1931. The depression was entrenched into our economy and many Americans faced difficult hardships during this time period

I will get there in a minute! (get it, minute, come on that was a great pun). What I have is a white gold filled Waltham accented with black and white enameling that was born in the 1920’s. This movement is a 15 jewel and it has just been serviced. But first, I have a shameless plug!

My shop was recently selected to supply vintage American watches for a premier movie starring some major actors and a world famous director. They were looking for authentic watches that would represent the time period from 1915-1926. It is a true story of events that took place during the 1920’s. As of October of 2024 some of my watches were used in a filming of a remake movie of a classic horror film of the 1930s. This one starring Penelope Cruz!

I have been an avid vintage watch collector for years. My soft spot is 1900-1940 American watches.

Art Deco, my favorite time period for vintage wrist watches, (pun intended) This offering is one "Rare Bird" Why. Read below! ( That is a tease to get you to read more )

The ones that I do not wear very much get sold for other watches that may be hard to find. All my watches for sale are in above average condition, some are pristine. I pride myself in offering the best quality and reasonable prices. Remember, "Price is what you pay, value is what you get".

This is an unusual watch case, it has a double bezel enameling, beautiful black and white inlayed into the top bezel.

This is what I have completed on the treasure:

    1) Complete tear down service

    2) NOS crystal

    3) New Band, genuine lizard that is black.

    4) The watch case was clean, hand polished

    5) Dial was professionally refinished to the original status

In other words, no part of the watch was left untouched. I try and bring back the dead to live another long life.

This watch has an extra story that is etched in time ( wow, the puns keep coming) Look carefully at the inside case back. There is an inscription:

Think about this engraved date, March 19th 1931 and this gift. The stock market had just crashed approximately 18 months previously, the worst financial crisis in our countries history and someone bestows a watch as a Christmas Gift! Wow, a story that will that will never be told. Who could afford to buy such an extravagant? What is their personal story?

This would make a true historical watch to own. I love the classic lines if the case, notice that there is no second hand! This is a rare luminous dial that I had professionally restored to like new

I have taken care to present to you a hard to find Art Deco watch that is a rare survivor of the many gold melt periods that we have had in this country.
