Welcome to Vintage Watch Corner. First my PSA: My shop was recently selected to supply vintage American watches for a premier movie starring some major actors and a world famous director. They were looking for authentic watches that would represent the time period from 1915-1926. It is a true story of events that took place during the 1920’s.
I have been an avid vintage watch seller and collector for years. My soft spot is 1900-1935 American watches. This watch represents the epitome of the Great Gatsby era. Take a long and hard look, you never may see another one. Copy and past this watch picture and search by picture with Google, I bet you don’t find one. This is a real treasure.
Use my extensive reviews to help you decide if I am a responsible seller. I understand it is a lot of money. The reviews are part of the selection process. The other, your gut, your one tion to the watch for you or as a gift.
I will include with the watch purchase the following
Complimenatry Travel Case

Do’s and Dont’s of owning a vintage watch.
The ones that I do not wear very much get sold for other watches that may be hard to find. All my watches for sale are in extraordinary conditon. I pride myself in offering the best quality and reasonable prices. Remember, “Price is what you pay, value is what you get”. I sell what I would buy myself.
This offering by far in my years of collecting and selling is my crown jewel. It is a solid 18 karat white gold Waltham with swing hinges. As a collector you could call this “The Piping Rock” of the Waltham line. This treasure was introduced around 1918, This is one of my most elegant pieces that I have offered. it is the only case shape I have had! The shape of the case makes this a definitive Art Deco “Crown Jewel”, it is a sublime offering.
It was not inexpensive, I wanted to take on this project because of my passion for this time period and I also knew I could restore it back to its original introduced condition. I wanted to give it life again. This Waltham has the rare cobalt blue inlayed bezel! It is so difficult to find one in this condition! It is divine!
This watch is the Picasso of Art Deco, it is sublime elegance worn on the wrist. Great Gatsby all over again
What is Art Deco?
Art Deco took its name, short for arts décoratifs, from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris in 1925, though the diverse styles that characterize Art Deco had already appeared in Paris and Brussels before World War I.
The term arts décoratifs was first used in France in 1858; published in the Bulletin de la Société française de photographie. In 1868, Le Figaro newspaper used the term objets d’art décoratifs with respect to objects for stage scenery created for the Théâtre de l’Opéra. In 1875, furniture designers, textile, jewelry and glass designers, and other craftsmen were officially given the status of artists by the French government. In response to this, the École royale gratuite de dessin (Royal Free School of Design), founded in 1766 under King Louis XVI to train artists and artisans in crafts relating to the fine arts, was renamed the École nationale des arts décoratifs (National School of Decorative Arts). It took its present name of ENSAD (École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs) in 1927.
Every inch of this watch has been touched. Let me list the boring stuff first.
1) Complete movement tear down and serviced. ( with the last 30 days)
2) New crystal
3) Case was hand polished, it has a beautiful luster that 18 karat white gold can only have
4) The swing hinges were completely rebuilt with 18 karat white gold wire to ensure years of trouble free wearing
5) New black 18MM alligator band with period white top stitching to represent t the era
6) The dial was refinished back to its original status, it has a beautiful engraved motif that is so reflective of my favorite period, Art Deco, it truly is sublime! A real treasure!
7) The inlaid numbers on the bezel are cobalt blue, very hard to find. Truly an extraordinary find today.
Lets start with some fluff. I have to share with you that this is one of the most stunning watches I have offered.
The dial alone makes it a real collector’s watch. It has a soft creamm color that is the prominent design feature; The outer minute track border is simple and elegant as it caresses the outside dial. The look is finished with blue steel moon hands
What a watch. The case has been hand polished. The watch looks brand new considering it was made in 1926, that is 95 years ago!
The movement is 15 jewels which is considered a higher caliber than traditional movements from that time period. This is part of Waltham famed Jeweled series that was introduced.
