    A bit of Omega History

The business started in 1848 in a modest workshop set up by Louis Brandt in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland.

Brandt maintained a modest company in the thirty years after it was established, selling his watches to clients around the globe.

In 1879, he passed away, and his sons took over the business. They introduced their first mass-produced calibre, the Labrador, in 1885, and the first minute-repeating timepiece was made in 1892. Just two years later, the brothers launched the 19-ligne Omega caliber, which developed a reputation in the watch industry and would eventually give the company its name.

In 1905, Omega began to act as an official timekeeper at sporting events across Switzerland, and in 1932, Omega formed one of its most important timekeeping partnerships. OMEGA was made responsible for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California for the first time.

This style of watch was first introduced during the Art Deco period, specifically 1925. As the years passed us by the style changed very little acknowledging the timeless design by Omega. The classic Roman Numeral dial is equally comfortable at a black tie dinner or a baseball game ( I love baseball)

The watch runs like a new born kitty, it purrs beautifully. Please look at the picture with the quarter for size reference. It has a much smaller foot print than todays modern watches.

It was a different era back then. I can only imagine who could afford such a luxury item in 1958, what stories this watch could tell if allowed.

Look at my reviews. I take great pride in my high rating , this comes from transparency, quality restorations and 8 years of history. I have successfully sold Rolex’s, Jaeger LeCoultres, Omegas, Rare Early American Watches and many more.

I have been a go to source for multiple Hollywood Studios for film rentals. I was one on the watch prop sources for the movie “Killer of the Flower Moon”

Use the pictures as part of the description. Bear in mind that this watch is 66 years young.
