  Think Art Deco, think very hard to find in this condition. This is an extraordinary survivor from a fabulous time period for the US. What a beautiful watch that has survived.
  
  
  My favorite time period (pun intended) is the Art Deco period. The styling was elegant, yet sophisticated, timeless (another intended pun) in design, yet they had such character. This offering is no exception. I rescued this from the forgotten bin; I knew this watch could be special when I saw it. Even in its rough condition, I could see a diamond in the rough.
  
  
  This striking Elgin has a subtly stepped bezel with interesting Art Deco floral and geometric designs engraved on the bezel and case sides, as well as a brilliant silver numerals and sub-second's track.

  A brand-new crocodile dark brown with white top stitching, it is a period correct band

  It was priced to consumers in 1930 for around $38.00. (in 2019 that would be $555.00) $38.00 during the depression was a lot of money) Engraved designs are bold and crisp. Case back is superb and without a personalization.
