Thank you for visiting. It is an honor that you are visiting my wonderful house of vintage watches. I try to mix a little “Time” humor as well tell and story and perhaps you may learn something.
Let me share a wee bit about me. I have a passion for vintage watches. You see, each one has a story, this story we may know parts of it, or we may know nothing. What we do know is that a previous generation wore that watch and created some memories that were deeply personal to them. The birth of a child, a graduation gift, perhaps a well-deserved job promotion. I often think about that, then I wonder what chapters the new owner will write, me, I am just a step of rejuvenation and healing to get the watch ready for another generation memories.
On a personal and often debated topic of conversation is how far I elect to restore these time capsules. If I was selling significant horological treasures that were rare and treasured, I would make the decision to restore the watch mechanically only.
The fact that my Rolex offering are in some cases hard to hard, they are not in a category like the Paul Newman, early Submariners, first Datejust, they are Rolex’s that have been enjoyed for what they are. A tool. I struggle sometimes, but ultimately you make t4he decision easier through the marvelous comments I get after the purchase has been made by a proud new owner who will make their owner personal impact, new chapters to be recorded with time.
Think 1947, how do we know that. The case number is 272022, this translates to Rolex history to 1947. This is a yellow colored case.
Inside the case back is stamped with the following:
Brevette
Rolex S.A
Geneve-Swisse
31 Victories
Haute Precision
R.W. C. Ltd
4270
Ahh, 4270, what is that? The is the movement caliber number. This is how Rolex Identified its movements. This is thee same movement that Rolex used for their “Speedking”, The “Observator”, “Elegante” line and many more. It was a work horse for Rolex.
